unrelated but here's a version of the gif in this comment with faster playback
the gif isn't infinite, it just takes a long time to pass through all the frames
the last 5 frames all take a minute to go by, but all other take 50 milliseconds
this is a modified version made using aseprite
so the gif does actually loop, it just takes 5-ish minutes to do so
