Very nice game. Would be cool to see it developed further. A bit frustrating when you get 5 planets with same resource in a row or when new planet disappears (is it intended?)

Yeah, one of the possible outcome of revealing a new planet is that you find nothing there. I'll probably add some sort of message or graphic that notifies the player that nothing was found. Another possibility I was thinking of, was spawning 'dead' planets instead and you use your research points to bring it back to life by terraforming it.
As for the overall randomness of the game, I'll also look into that area if players are finding it makes the game more frustrating than fun to play.
