Thank you! I’m new to developing Visual Novels but I love playing them, so even if this is a project I couldn’t submit for the game jam, I am looking forward to seeing it through because it’ll be my first :)

I hope you continue your project especially if it’s a project you really enjoy making.

As for Light.vn and Ren.py, I found Ren.py easier to develop with (but I also know Python so when I say “easy” it’s because I understand the code)

Light.vn on the other hand has some form of GUI (on the left sidebar) that makes development faster if you don’t want to write complex code and just want to add and position sprites. Although, it does require you learning their scripting language if you want to really make use of the features.

Another caveat with Light.vn is the lack of English support (which they are currently expanding). There’s a YouTube playlist I am using to learn but it’s in Japanese. My Japanese is まぁまぁ so I can understand him a bit.

But Light.vn has amazing features and if I intend to continue making VNs, I think investing on Light.vn would be worth it :)
