Lol, Ludum Dare's theme "Tiny Creatures" is of course where the idea came from. I wondered what it would be like for a Sokoban character to grow/shrink to relate to the word 'tiny' and a creature who can do that irl is a Pufferfish. From there, I just wondered about what kinds of weird behaviors might result from the growing/shrinking characters, and there were enough interesting things that I knew I could make a few puzzles out of it.
