The art direction is very cute, but the feeling of fear is still there.
The heartbeat sound is a good intention to warn of danger, but perhaps lacks a way to better anticipate or escape from it.
Or, if the encounter with the monster is to remain punishing, to probably be able to move a little faster to fill the void that is created by walking on new attempts. I tried many times before succeeding, but you have to know how to put yourself in danger to make potions!
