I loved the game's visuals and soundtrack, and had a very unique experience with the room. I love how this location changed, reflecting the characters mental health deterioration as his family problems grew, the narrative design is probably the strongest feature of this title. My only problem with "Room" were the puzzles, which sometimes were too frustrating and unintuitive, and the "hints" section just explained everything all at once, not giving a hint, but a whole playtrough. A proper hint button would really help here imo. The puzzles were the most frustrating in the child and teen rooms I think, later it improved!
I enjoyed the second part of the game less, but that's just my taste I think. It was easier to pass and more intuitive, though. It was an interesting twist to see something completely different from the first part, as if there were two different games in one:)
Some other thoughts:
I love the sinster-sounding "let it be" option on the menu.
The music box tunes were beautiful! I wish to hear them later on during the playthrough as well, as some kind of characters memory of the childhood or something. That's jsut my loose thought.
Ending was simply, yet beautifully animated. However, it felt kind of rushed (well, for our SIOW submission we had to rush with the ending as well, so I understand that hahah) and I did not really understand what its meaning was in the end.
Overally, I had an awesome experience and I just can't stress how beautiful the artstyle was, and how sad the story was. It really led me o a state of catharsis. Thank you for sharing this project to the world!
