I think it may have been glitching for me? I would select a character and then wouldn't be able to do anything else. That said, I really loved the music! 
It could totally be my system. I'm playing on a 2013 MacBook Pro, in the Safari browser. Let me try it in Chrome later tonight and see if that changes anything.
