From what I’ve found, this is a rare Ren'Py bug that affects only some users.
Try re-downloading the game or extracting it again. It often resolves the issue.
If that doesn’t work, the error might be caused by restricted access to game files. Here are a few steps to try:
- Check folder permissions: Right-click the game folder, select Properties, and make sure it’s not marked as “Read-Only.”
- Run as administrator: Right-click the game’s
.exefile and select Run as Administrator.
