Hi. To be honest, nothing happened to me either. I played on version 0.8.1. Before that, I read the commentary and tried to complete as many tasks as possible, but nothing happened. Even the falling stars at the beginning of the game did not appear, there were only some events for 20 days of the game, such as darkness around twice, and that's it. On the 12th day, I received a scripted message, but even after that there were no arirals. What did I do? From the very first day of the game, I concentrated on throwing out garbage and creating video cards and a rack for mining. I also tried to follow signals and send them to the report, collect hashes. But absolutely nothing happens. Previously, I played on version 0.7.0 and I really liked the plot, and I know that on day 18, a giant robot was supposed to pass, but absolutely nothing. 

I saw a lot of YouTubers also complaining that nothing happens in the game. 

I think there is some kind of bug that does not allow the plot to start correctly and it just does not go.
