I AM RATING THESE ALL THESE JAM SUBMISSIONS RELATIVE TO ONE ANOTHER. THERE ARE HIGH HIGHS AND LOW LOWS BUT PLEASE DON’T TAKE THIS TOO PERSONALLY, AFTERALL, WE ALL ONLY HAD A MONTH.
Implementation of Theme (1):
This is one of the worst victims of having to triage a story so much that the theme wasn’t able to be implemented.
Story (2):
Considering this is the creator’s first time making a VN and they have a lot of experience with writing Non-VN literature, I was worried how they were going to make the transition. The plot point about the MC’s gender being ambiguous for ratings felt very tacky.
Presentation (2):
All of the backgrounds done by Torahiko, while being too cutesy for murder, did add a level of charm that was apricated. The title screen is very impressive even if we never met the Beta Wolf at all in the Jam Version.
Creativity (4):
This project gets a 4 for being way too ambitious for its own good. Lots of choices. Early endings. Multiple days. The kitchen sink.
I could have seen this submission using ImageMaps for the cruise ship.
The Accessibility Features were a nice touch that I wasn’t expecting.
Total (9):
This was one of the few VN’s that I played were the creator(s) didn’t want to join my stream of it. I was kind of worried that they chose to do that because they were disappointed by the product that they made or the Jam itself but since then, I’ve felt no such animosity by the creator. I was expecting this to be continued but I have heard no news whatsoever about a continuation which saddens me.
If you participate in another Jam, I would hope that you go completely linear after this experiment.
BTW, you should probably change some of the itch page’s setting so you can have the WEB Version and screenshots.
