Gosh this game is beautiful, I loved everything about it the first time I played it and this time with the new demo, I just have one question, are the affection points purely points leading toward more romantic feelings? For example, I love Camran and wanted to choose the first choices that had hearts next to them but I wouldn't want to have a romantic relationship with Camran for my first playthrough. I love this game however! I'm sorry if this comes off more criticizing.

to answer your question: affection points simply translate to how much someone will like you/their approval of you. for all the NPCs (Camran, Nira, Luthais, etc) choosing the heart options won’t lead to a romantic relationship :)
