Implementation of Theme (5):
Seeing the MC’s life literally being expanded before Mycroft’s eyes is one of those interpretations that I could never even hope to imagine myself. When I think about it, expanding life is kind of what I did with the Bolo Drives in Wolf Bolo Two but this is done in a way that doesn’t require you to play 64 hour Japanese RPG from 8 year ago.
Story (4):
I’m kind of iffy on how suicide is portrayed in media but a lot of care was put into this aspect of the story. You really feel for what the MC has to go through and the baggage that he isn’t able to separate himself from.
I was expecting a bit of educational section about beverages in this one which thankfully there isn’t.
You left the player wanting more of Mycroft which they certainly got in your Submission for NovemBEAR 2024.
Presentation (5):
Someone pulled a Labor of Love and decided to use the Pre-Made Sprites but alter them heavily so much that to someone who didn’t know about MAY WOLF, they wouldn’t have guessed it made by someone else. The fully original characters blend so well with Ron’s sprites.
The use of music almost brought a tear to my eye.
There is so much symbolism, I really wish you could have gotten the butterfly animation to work like how you showed me.
The different textboxes were a nice touch.
Creativity (4):
I think that the only reason I didn’t give this 5 Stars was being I was a little offput by the Player Input section that happened only once. Apparently a lot of people got stuck by it and it took them a while but I just got it instantly on my first tried.
Having the sudden perspective shift to this completely different character was cool and unexpected.
Total (18):
For MAY WOLF 2023, I liked Moonlit Field quite a bit. I thought you were going to be dedicating all of your time towards The Wayward Tower so when you released your own Submission too, I was very surprised. From all the veterans from MAY WOLF 2023 into MAY WOLF 2024, this is by far the biggest step in quality.
Anything that was underbaked in Moonlit Field came out well-done in One More Light. This isn’t a joke against people who like their meat well-done. I don’t care about doneness unless it’s tuna.
