Alternatively you could do a much shorter one, my friends are still in college so the only way we have been reasonably able to do a game jam was with the trijam which is like every weekend. You get 3 hours per person to do whatever coding or art or audio and you leave the rest to your friends, you get a whole weekend (friday to sunday) to put in these hours so it leaves time for family as well :) (people do tend to want you to use html5 or other online programming languages though and it can be hard to switch to from java :p)
