This game looks cool! But it doesnt work at all. It really shouldnt even be on itch, I mean every single comment here is about the game not working, so why even have it up?

Can you try to put this file into the game directory and start again:

https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/3xiclab2dlgy07hl2a3nf/absolute_blue.prefs?rlkey=4...

If it doesn't help, feel free to send me the log.txt file of the game folder, maybe we can get some hints where it breaks.

You've had 3+ years to get this figured out, sorry but Im not downloading anything from dropbox.

This is a >20 year old game from myself, which I'm offering for free. I just wanted to be helpful, seems like you didn't want any help with it at all. Feel free to yell around here more if it makes you feel better.

I'm not at all "yelling", or upset in the slightest. Just pointing out that the game is broken and has been broken for years, and that the page should be set to private or taken down. I felt like I upset you and didn't mean to come off as an asshole, so I DID go ahead and download the .pref file and put it into my directory and the game DID work afterwards.

So I hope you update the file here on itch with that .pref file included soon.

Thanks for trying and your feedback. I have updated the game file.

The reason seems to be that either your graphic card or your driver (the game runs on DirectX7 - so current graphic card driver might cause incompatibilities) doesn't support 640x480 Full screen Mode that the game runs by default. The 'prefs' file forces the game to launch in windowed mode which might be more compatible from a today's point of view.

That was probably the reason it didn't run on lots of current hardware (it worked perfectly fine on my two machines).

Hope that helps and no other issues occur (I can provide troubleshooting like this, but it's quite difficult for me to fix the real underlaying issues because the source code is so dated and it would require a lot of rework).
