I think you should change the title into "Need fresh ideas". No need for brainstorming or anything.
If you want an idea from me here's one: roguelike sokoban. The game plays like top down roguelike game however you defeat enemies by pushing blocks toward enemies. There might be more block types or objects you can push to defeat enemies, or even solve puzzles.
