This is a really cool concept that I'd love to see developed further! The ideas you mentioned at the end all sound like they'd make great additions to the game. I also really like the ability to choose the color palette. really fantastic overall!
I really wanted to add some colors, I was aiming (no pun intended) for the Gameboy palette but then I realized that I could add multiple colors, including my beloved C64. Thanks for the feedback!
