Checkpoints take up some memory, and having loads of them can make maps unplayable. maybe the checkpoint just adds another thing the game needs to process, and it changes slightly? i have no idea.

yea, I tried to play a map that had over 900 checkpoints and the start was like playing in slo motion. But I’m still confused because a single checkpoint isn’t much. Maybe it has something to do with the noise of going through a checkpoint  and how that might take effort from the game instead of no noise. I’m also puzzled.
