That is more an issue with the OS, not the age of the system. ChromeOS is pretty much a web-oriented Linux distro with a focus on web apps that run in a browser and android apps, but there is a full Linux environment available. And it looks like the 2021 and 2022 versions of Unity do have support on ChromeOS.
