It's such a shame that this project got taken down. After trying Balatro on steam I refunded it because it seemed to complicated, but after trying this version and getting a grasp on the fundamentals I decided to buy the game on steam again, and have been hooked ever since. I decided to come back to this version to show a friend the fundamentals of Balatro, but it seems Playstack didn't see the potential in publicity that this project offered. Thanks for getting me into what is now one of my favorite games.

Thanks for sharing this with me. I still have hope that Playstack will change their mind and allow me to release this game free of charge.

That's a shame, try and reach out to the developer rather than his over-zealous publisher if possible. The guy's made ten million plus from this game out of nowhere so I'm sure this is no threat to his livelihood or the publisher's profits.

I have permission to convert a couple of equally popular PC games, I just mailed the developers directly.

Thanks a lot for the tip! I actually started by reaching out to the developer, but he remains completely anonymous—no one really knows who he is. I tried contacting him via Twitter, but I didn’t get a response. I’ll give it another shot and see if there’s any other platform where he might be reachable.

There's an email on his reddit profile, might be worth a go: localthunk.contact@gmail.com

Thanks, I'm going to try it.
