Heya! Really late to the party, but still. Not that my 2cents will make any difference here, but I'm gonna give them anyway :)
The story is solid. It's a 2-3 week piece of writing. It's great for what it is. Could it be improved? Definitely. Could every possible story out there be improved? Of course. It's all subjective anyway.
I don't get any of the negative comments on this visual novel. "It's depressing." So what? "It has multiple routes." So what? Pacing, deeper storytelling, etc, should be on point with a week of post-production available? Really? This kind of work is difficult if you want to have higher quality. For example, we decided to postpone the release of our project because we saw it's much bigger than expected and we would have only been able to present the first part of just a few thousand words. It's not easy putting together a presentable furry visual novel of a decent caliber. The fact that "Since November" launched in the form it has, is absolutely an achievement to be proud of.
Perhaps these comments are based on envy because the project was excellently executed within a really short time frame. I saw the creator's vision when he wrote it, even if the final product is not as deep as he could have portrayed it had he been given enough time.
"Since November" rivals most other furry visual novels that have been going on for months, or even years, in terms of writing, art, and music. It's also a breath of fresh air from the typical ones that float around. It hits just right if you're open to new things. Give it a read, you won't regret it.
Note to the author: If I were you, I wouldn't touch "Since November" anymore. Leave it as is. It's a great standalone piece that deals with some heavy topics. Get all the feedback you can and continue with a brand new novel that can be a bigger project with enough time to spare for it. You did great. Now keep going. -H.M.
