really good, gameplay being a perfect mix of needing to manage inventory with ingredients to discover stuff and stuff to actually survive was super cool! ended up spamming fireballs on the last room. wish i figured out what to do with all of the chemicals you can get from the coins... is there a whole recipe table somewhere?

Not at the moment, but there's been some talks in the Discord about making a wiki
Though I want to leave the discovering to the players! So I don't want to make a wiki myself and give away all the answers. I'll put a hint for the byproducts of the copper coin down below! You'll need to click "View More" to see it (so I'm not spoiling a bunch of people)

A redox reaction is a reaction wherein the number of electrons in an atom or molecule changes (affecting its "oxidation", hence the name "oxidation-reduction" reaction). In some cases, we can use this to induce an electric current!
Try looking into how Galvanic Batteries function! As a hint -- zinc is a more reactive substance than copper, and materials may "hop stations" when bonded with a less reactive substance and introduced to a more reactive substance.
P.S. This is something you can actually try out yourself! (Though be careful as with all chemistry experiments)
