What distro are you using? For me on CachyOS (based on Arch), the Linux version works. Minor issues are:

  • When using a controller Chromium does not recognize the brand of, the d-pad does not work (so you have to use the stick) and the buttons are mixed up (Cross is displayed as Circle, Square is displayed as Cross, Circle is displayed as Square).
  • It doesn't remember the fullscreen setting, and like other Chromium-based apps, it asks for my login password on startup. I fixed both these issues by launching the game with:
gamescope -w [your horizontal resolution] -h [your vertical resolution] -f -- ~/.config/itch/apps/somnabuster2024/linux64/somnaBuster --password-store=basic
  • The mouse cursor does not disappear, you have to move it to the corner.

I'm using POP! OS (Ubuntu based). Can't say I know why your controller is doing that.

The Arch Wiki might be able to help.

I know what causes the controller issue now: Chromium for Linux doesn't recognize the brand of the controller I used. The Steam version wouldn't have this problem thanks to Steam Input.

Weird that it doesn't work on Pop OS. Maybe the current release is just too outdated due to the overhaul they're working on.

It works fine, once the right files are set to executable. As Bloodscourge pointed out, there are three other files that need to execution privileges: chrome_crashpad_handler, nacl_helper, and nacl_helper_bootstrap
