Hello Deepshock, and Thank You for your bug notes and feedback. We will for sure look into the grenade issue as we don't have that noted as a bug. Did you clip through the wall, or did you teleport to an area off camera? That could help us pinpoint where or how that bug works. We are only a studio of 2 for design and programming, so the more detail, the quicker we can be to removing it in the follow up iteration. I am assuming you probably did not get to beat the first iteration of this build based on your feedback? Was there anything you liked or disliked about the overall direction? Was there anything that didn't seem natural or fluid with the controls?
As we are still in a conceptual phase, we are looking for what makes this more of a departure from 'The Guardian Legend', while using the Guardian Legend as a reference for our overall direction. Aesthetically, the game will have many redesigns as we hone in on the direction we will finally be able to take with it. This concept was built over a crunch period of one month, and during the iteration and prototyping process, we use stand-ins to showcase the direction of a project to obtain whether there is overall interest in these types of game play. If this was to be a full production game, without contacting the appropriate copyright holders of the original IP, meaning IREM, or the subsidiary that now holds those IP's, I wouldn't be able to take this specific direction of following 'The Guardian Legend', out of pre-production and prototyping, and it would have to die right here, or have a complete and utter overhaul, removing all artwork associated with 'The Guardian Legend'. I do cite my references irregardless of whether I have to, and I double checked that 'Third Half' was indeed credited in the credits of this game for multiple uses of his 2D artwork, which if we are allowed in a future date to keep the rights, and actually work further on this game after our first few iterations, I will likely contact him for other artwork, as our design concept is modeled after the chibi style artwork/format, of which his was the only artwork we could quickly find online that worked perfectly as reference to that. Thankfully, I did notice he posted a comment here, and will respond to him in kind, and of course if he feels I am not accurately representing him, or his artwork in a respectful way, or how he would wish for his art to be used or displayed, I will remove it from future builds and apologize for any disturbance this may have caused.
I am sorry I'm such a long winded writer, I use to write Long Hand Articles for Gamer's Decide, so writing off the top of my head comes naturally.
Thank you for the well wishing, it is much appreciated, and we are trying something vastly different with gathering public opinion for our direction and approach =)
