The new update is for sure a mixed bag to me, honestly. The new open map is nice enough, and the furniture is useful, but without the ability to freely place it in the sandbox mode, it does disappoint a bit.

The new animations are good! And the implementation is a lot more spotless than the previous build, though I will admit, squashing the bug that stops characters from playing struggling animations when their gallow is deleted is pretty disappointing. The squirming is 99% of the joy to me, so to not be able to control it and have it go away like it's nothing is disappointing. Especially now, with the addition of the character tensing up right before fainting, a "struggle level" slider would come in so incredibly handy.

The Garrote tool is great to see back, but I can't help but feel there's something missing when compared to the original. The upper body essentially freezing during use, especially when arms are tied, and inability to garrote with hands placed in front of the character like in the old builds, make the feature feel a bit lackluster. Altogether though, it's good to see back, and until the ziptie is back, will do as a decent enough substitute for a controlled struggle scenario.

The new minigame, while a bit confusing at first, is more interesting than I had assumed it would be, and is honestly really cool to see! Hoping to see the minigames from previous builds one day, but for now, this is a fun little time waster.

all in all, would recommend updating to 0.8.2, but if you're a fan of the "struggling while out of gallows" bug like me, keep a 0.8.1 build handy, or if the custom characters aren't a dealmaker for you, just use 0.7 and use the ziptie at 30-40 power, they don't pass out or die but stay squirmy the whole time.
