For a first game, it's a strong start the sprites are beautiful and i like the CGA palette you used and the rotating feathers.
Speaking of which i think you know where i'm going with this... the pickup sound effect is super loud compared to the rest of the game's sound, but hey nothing that can't be fixed XD
Also like your tune fits the mood quite well.
Too bad you didn't have enough time to put goals and stuff, but other than that and the SE what's there's really a good start, don't know what i could say more.
