Cracking game!! Really really enjoyed playing this one!
First of all the graphics are really stunning, with a modern retro feel to the game! I had a slight glitch were no more enemies spawned but after a quick reboot the problem was solved!
Secondly that AI was awesome, one of the first games I have played on here with a really solid and 'smart' AI which actually posed some challenges later on in the game... or I was just really really bad!

About the glitch, maybe you didn't move far enough from the starting area? Ships don't respawn from an area (which is... a bad choice from my part, but lack of time, you know ^^'), you need to explore the map more I think in order for the game to generate new islands with new ships. I mean, I hope that was it.
Thank you for the AI comment too, I did spend time coding it and I'm still losing hair over it! Haha :o
I actually forgot to enable some AI ships that hunt you down (they'll be in my next update)
