🇬🇧 It is no secret to anyone if I say that Sonata purpurea is clearly inspired by Lovecraftian tales in which music is dominant and becomes a vehicle for cosmic horror. One of the most beautiful and emblematic stories in the entire cycle of the Cthulhu Mythos, according to many, is The Music of Erich Zann (1922), which is the main inspiration of my mystery.
Today, not even to do it on purpose, I came across an article that Riccardo Gallori wrote for “Cercatori di Atlantide”, in which he discusses the relationship and inspirations that the Cthulhu Mythos have provided to the world of music (and vice versa?). Uno dei racconti più belli e più emblematici di tutto il ciclo dei Miti di Cthulhu, a detta di molti, è proprio La musica di Erich Zann (1922), che è l’ispirazione principale del mio mistero.
Oggi, neanche a farlo apposta, mi sono imbattuto in un articolo che Riccardo Gallori ha scritto per “Cercatori di Atlantide”, nel quale si affrontano il rapporto e le ispirazioni che i Miti di Cthulhu hanno fornito al mondo della musica (e viceversa?).
