In Australia, it's donut. Doughnut may be American.
You can drink anything you like with donuts, but I reckon tea or coffee would be the most common.
Doughnut is British. I always thought of donut as American (e.g. Dunkin' Donuts).
Like Dee says, in the UK, it's doughnut.
