This game show some promise, but it is a little rough around the edges and feels somehow unfinished. I played to what I think is the end, although there is still a locked thing and the ending I got was an ambiguous one so perhaps I've missed something.

As for the roughness around the edges: it feels a little underdescribed for one. There are a few locations where there is nothing that can be examined or interacted with (the bathroom on the ground floor, room 203 upstairs - or is there supposed to be a key in there? The graphic seems to suggest it but there is nothing to pick up). And the game starts without a proper introduction and a bit of a jolt ('go downstairs').

The graphics are minimal, which is fine, but there does seem to be a problem with items that are taken still appearing in the illustrations (the aforementioned key, and the sword in the tavern).

So, all in all: it's fine as far as it goes, but I think it needs a bit more work and development to bring it up to scratch compared to some of the other entries.

Okay, I will take that in mind! I played through the entire game to the multiple endings and things seemed to work but I'll look at it. Did you find the hidden room? Almost all the endings are left to the player's imagination, and I wanted a kind of low-poly gritty look. There is not a key in the second floor room, it is just a non-hostile version of the third floor room. Try examining the bathroom mirror.

The game is a dream, if that makes more sense to you.

I examined the mirror, which produces  a chilling response. The problem there is that the mirror is not mentioned in the location description and it is not an object - and it is not even very obvious in the graphic, so it is very easy to assume that there is nothing there and there is no point in examining it. By contrast, the toilet is clearly shown in the graphic but examining it produces no specific response, and the same goes for eg the TV in the room upstairs, which is mentioned in the room description but has no examine message.

I haven't found a hidden room. I've played through to the golden door ending, but the locked metal box is still locked. Trying to unlock it produces the response 'it's locked' where I would expect 'you don't have the key' or something similar instead.

But I don't want to be overly critical: I can see that work has gone into the game and it works well enough. But it could be better, I think, with a bit of a tidy up and a little more description and a few more responses for the player.

[Spoiler] Okay, I'll think about that next time! I didn't put x labels on many things that aren't central to the plot. (Take a look at the boiler.)

Finished it, and got a better ending. Thanks for the hint!

Just for your information - you are permitted to update the game any time during the judging phase. If you feel like adding responses sooner rather than later.

Oh, I am done working on this game, it took me way too long and I try to move onto other projects. (Exasperated sigh) Thanks for the advice, though!
