I echo ocdshiro's comment, I was going to say the visuals are nice but I don't know how to play (if you do play, or if you just watch the scenarios play out). If you're watching them play out, I might suggest things move more frequently so that more happens? Looks nice though and seems like it could be fun!

hi, thank you for the review! sorry, i didn't have time to write in a proper tutorial/command list, i guess i hoped the weird controls would be part of the "out of control" thing and drive experimenting but that was a bit of laziness lol.
the idea is to watch the scenarios play out / try to put out the fire without any animals or firefighters dying (and some animals will kill each other). sorry for the confusion, i'll put these instructions in the description so hopefully it's more clear. thank you for the compliment on the visuals!

edit: here are the instructions i just put in the description:

CONTROLS:

When in a scenario: USE THE ARROW KEYS TO CONTROL THE CURSOR. If the cursor is over a creature, HIT SPACE TO ACTIVATE IT.

If activating a FIREFIGHTER, there's a list of commands that put the firefighter into a different state.

STATE 1: GET WATER: the firefighter will have empty buckets. Maneuver them (with arrow keys) to a puddle to GATHER THE WATER UP. Afterwords, the firefighter will start wandering again but with a FLAG in the code turned on that they have water.

STATE 2: BREAK BLOCK: the firefighter will DESTROY ANY ROCKS they come into contact with. Animals sometimes hide under rocks, though!

STATE 3: EMPTY BUCKETS: if the WATER FLAG from state 1 is turned ON, this state will allow the firefighter to dump the water out. If you hit SPACE, they'll dump the water out one space to the firefighter's right. Maneuver them next to a fire to put it out.

I hope you'll give the game another shot!

Ok! I tried it again and it still took me a while to figure out controls (felt like a lot of key presses without good intuition of how to do things) but after several minutes I got it working fairly well. The music is very nice and relaxing and the sound effects are great too.  Game idea was cool and various screens implemented are nice to see (level complete, grade, etc). It still lost points for fun because of the seemingly high number of control inputs and I could only figure out how to place water to the tile right of me, which is kind of annoying. I changed my rating though, scoring things higher than before thanks to your explanation of controls. : ) Hope you had fun making it!

Thank you! yeah, I was inspired by games like dwarf fortress which have a million keypresses, and in retrospect I should have streamlined things down. Also, you can only place the water to the right, I ran out of time to implement 4 directions (hopefully that's something I'll be able to put in with an update)

Thanks for giving it another shot! I really appreciate it!
