A nifty little concept! I found the game speed to be a touch slow, since the characters weren't doing anything especially interesting while they were doing their own thing. Some snappier movement would probably have cleared that up.
I also found the UI to be prety confusing at times. Once or twice I lost track of which character I had selected, and wasn't sure if clicking other ones was changing anything, especially since I didn't seem to be able to deselect a character? Maybe I missed a hotkey.
