Cool breakout game! Not sure why the paddle would shrink but that was a cool feature. I kinda didn't like how you were out if the ball left the side of the screen. (normally it bounces like there is a wall there) Still, congrats on submitting a cool breakout game to the jam! Please check out mine if you haven't :D
