Wow, very nice! I always love rpg's with quircky stories and nice humor. The graphics do remind me of earthbound, but the combat system with lots of different enemies and different reactions to your attacks also reminds me of undertale, wich is coherent considering the close relation between both games. I also LOVED them both, so I'm really looking forward to this.

About the pixel art and animations, I really loved the personality of roopit and boopit, I think it standed out as a very unique expierience and I haven't really played anything like it. This game has a little less personality in my opinion, but its true that the pixel art and color palette looks more polished and professional. Also the rolling/dashing animation looks amazing!

I also have to say the game sounds amazing, the music is really, REALLY good.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to a playable version and I will be waiting for the next video as well. I will also think of names, but I'm absoluteley terrible at it hahaha I still can't decide on a name for the game I'm working on... How about "Cat-powered space oddisey"  or "Interdimensional cat quest" Those  were awefull, I'm really sorry hahaha

I like the name suggestions!

Especially "Cat-powered space oddisey"  :D

I'll add them to the suggestion list!

As for the art not having as much personality as Roopit and Boopit, what do you reckon I need to change to get more personality in it?

You think I should have little cut scenes like in Roopit and Boopit?

Also thanks for being honest, Its nice hearing positive feedback, but constructive criticism helps the game more in the long run.

Hopefully you can have a go at beta version soon!  :)

I mean, the first second you see roopit and boopit you inmediatly get the feeling that you havent seen anything even remotely similar. I think its the combination of the pixel art, the animations and the color palette. But thats not the only way to make a game attractive, I see this game, I think of the mother series and I instantly want to play it. Also the riddle master looks unique AF! You are adding all sorts of pintoresque characters so its just a matter of time, this is a much more complex game after all.

Little cut scenes are always welcome, but I think what will make this game truly shine is the story, the weird characters and specialy the combat system. An RPG with a fun story with lots of great characters will stickl in your mind for a long time, but if the combat system is also unique enough you will come back to play it again and again and again!

Man, I love rpgs so much hahaha you touched a sensible fibre with this one.
