Thank you for your feedback :) The recoil jump was also our favorite mechanic to play around with and I'm happy that you liked it.
We definitely should have added some checkpoints but we sadly didn't have that much time to work on it, which is why a lot of cool things got scrapped. I will definitely make sure in the future that the game is less punishing.
