I loved this game! the lighting effects are really cool and I like how when you havent gotten the cheese yet it shines a light on the background then it is fully revealed. I also like how the whole level glows orange when you beat it, very satisfying. The gameplay is really fun too.

The criticisms I have of this game are all centered on the controls.  The controls scheme is a bit wonky, and took me a while to get used to, I'm used to having space as my jump key.  Also, I feel like diagonal dashing is really wonky and it sometimes eats my inputs causing me to die.The character is very very fast, which isn't an issue in any of the levels except for the ones you have to get into the keyhole. It is really difficult to fit him in that tiny hole.

Overall though one of my favorites I've played in this jam so far, well done!

Thanks for feedback! Really happy to hear someone enjoyed my game so much!

The diagonal dash is a little bit punishing if you don't get both keys on horizontal and vertical axis (Ex. up and right) pressed, then hit dash, it won't register as diagonal dash. I am still looking for ways to fix this problem to make it more responsive.

The keyhole problem I just realized it because normally I just jump or dash right into it lol.

It is so so helpful that you point out problems that's nearly impossible for me to realize by playtesting along!

I may work on a custom input system if there's still time lol, already spent most of the 48 hours  I think.

Again, thanks for your feedback, it really helps me a lot!

I really liked your game that's why I took the time to playtest it a lot! I always value when people playtest my games  because I never expect myself to get it perfect on the first go. Just spitballing here, but could it be effective to add a buffer time to inputting the dash directions? there seems to be a short pause before you start moving anyway so maybe if you input another direction during that time it would register it and change the dash direction.

Yes I think that might work lol.

I had think of it at the beginning but I gave up because at that point I don't have the short pause for dash, and that lead me to think this might work differently unlike jump buffer.

And once I got used of it I just didn't realize...

Thank you so much! Really appreciated for playtesting and useful advices !

I just downloaded your game, hopefully I can help you polish your game as well !

ya I wasn't sure how the underlying dash mechanics worked so I wasn't sure if my suggestion was helpful, just an idea though! Thanks for trying out my game, I hope you enjoy it!
