If you aren't planning to join people, you shouldn't need to port forward.
i know, i think it is my router, i was in another house and it worked perfectly and in mine it just doesnt work
Might wanna look for feedback from other people that use your router type or the company's rates.I.E: Reviews for Verizon or a router like Arris/DLINK.
