In this walk in the dark we’re led by a rotating cast of helpers to avoid obstacles on our way toward the exit. Each play we’re greeted by a voice actor who convincingly explains the situation and gives instruction at each step. It’s nice to occasionally hear someone new, which adds to its replayability. Other sounds build a subtle but recognizable atmosphere which conveys a damp enclosed space.

The game itself is simplistic with similarities to Simon Says. Follow the instructions to win, misstep to lose. But the game loop itself is quick and has enough randomization to make each play unique and interesting for folks who enjoy this style of game.

There are a few issues with its execution that if fixed might make it feel more polished and responsive. At certain points we’re rewarded with encouraging feedback; unfortunately the game loop doesn’t pause to wait for their completion, so we hear some crosstalk that obscures the next instruction and can lead to failure. After each instruction there’s a delay that prevents input, during which I could get a few keystrokes in before hearing any footsteps, which could be shortened or removed altogether for a snappier experience.

Thanks for your submission. Good work!
