Yeah, you're not supposed to ACTUALLY play on the money machines to get the money you need... that's the point; you can't rely on fate. (It can be pretty fun though.)

And, I'm going to take a moment to talk about this; it's not rigged! It's pure probability.
You have three "dice". Each dice can be one of 6 values, from 1 to 6. You only win if you match all three numbers.

You have 3d6 so the total number of possible results of the draw is 6*6*6 = 216.
The winning combinations are {1,1,1}, {2,2,2}, {3,3,3}, {4,4,4}, {5,5,5}, {6,6,6}.  Simple right? The game even notifies you when you match two— you don't win, but you get told that you were almost there.

So you have 216 possibilities and 6 winning possibilities... but that means there are 210 ways to lose.

In the end... you have 6/216 chances to win, which simplifies to 1/36.
35 times out of 36, statistically, you lose. I won once when I was testing the mechanic? But you'll want to play quite a lot of rounds to experience winning!

I COULD make you more likely to match all three numbers. For example, I could make it roll two numbers, and then roll the last one between the range of the other two. But that would be rigging it. And it also kind of misses the point of the whole level, which is to figure out you can't rely on gambling.

Interesting that the normal probabilities made you feel like you were being cheated though, right? Rolling three dice to match them all doesn't sound difficult, but it's actually a really tiny chance.

Regardless, thanks for playing! I hope this'll have been an interesting tidbit ^^
