I found this to be a relaxing experience! I immediately thought of Celeste (one of my all-time favorite games) while playing. Only afterwards did I notice you mentioned it as one of your inspirations. (I'm not familiar with Gunvolt though)
I do think the movement is a little uneven at the moment, but it's fairly fun to fool around with and try things out. The minimap was a great addition. It took me a moment to figure out that I needed to stand on the rocks to progress, maybe a visual cue in the level would help, rather than just on the mini map.
I enjoyed traversing the map, and the music and overall look of the game helped that relaxing atmosphere. I did make it to the top!
Also, your character is cute, I love her design!
