Day 2

Done today

  • Mouse cursor is now a crosshair.
  • Fought with physics.

Game’s name: Privateer

I finally decided on a name for the game: Privateer. It reflects how the player will get mandates and missions from some higher powers, them being states, organizations, etc.

Now, it’s just sad that I can’t rename the topic in this forum. “Unnamed top-down shooter” sounds a lot less sexy.

Stupid physics (or me)

Aaargh! I’ve been fighting with the physics stuff for a while tonight, in order to manage collisions with eventual walls, obstacles and all. I suppose I’m going in the proper direction, but I’m still not there. Either the collision results in some weird rebound, or simply does not happen. At least, I’m not stuck with infinite inertia anymore. Well, it’s getting late, I’ll jump back on it tomorrow.

What’s next?

For tomorrow, I plan to complete the following:

  • Win that fight against physics.
  • Dynamically assemble war machines.
