Just finished the update and I have comments. Spoilers ahead for the current update, obviously. Read at your own risk.

Firstly, stellar work, as always. The writing is great quality, as per usual, despite the odd typo or grammatical error. The progression of Diego's story line is coming along nicely and only getting more complex as we near the end. If I had any complaints to make regarding the writing, they would be about Kyrex's involvement in this update.

I can't say I'm really a fan of this whole "redemption/justification of Kyrex" thing that's getting foreshadowed, but, like, I get it, more or less. I don't like the idea of trying to justify things like what Kyrex did to Diego in any way or to any extent, but in all fairness, it's understandable why this sort of thing would be included in the story - Diego's story would lose a lot of its meaning if he doesn't get some proper closure regarding Kyrex - and Tai at least states that having a reason or reasons for what happened doesn't justify them or exonerate Kyrex of culpability for his actions (even if it feels like Tai sympathizes with the jack-wagon, what with that "two sides to every story" stuff and the whole "it was more complicated than I realized" thing). It's at least clear that the story isn't gonna try and say that Kyrex's actions weren't completely awful or even that he deserves to be forgiven because he had his own issues at the time, which is good; hurting another person the way Kyrex hurt Diego is beyond any kind of apology or redemption, especially with the way he'd act whenever he showed up before this update. All that said, the actual story and character arcs haven't come to any conclusion as of yet, so I'll withhold any actual judgement until they have.

Graphically, I've only got a couple things to bring up. First and foremost, I've been noticing an inconsistency with how many fingers Diego has; his sprite looks like he has five fingers (counting the thumb) and some of the CGs show him with five fingers, but then other CGs will only give him four fingers. For visual, compare Diego's hands in the "Sleeping on Couch" and "Diego Naked" CGs/Special Scenes to his hands in the CGs for "Diego vs Russel", "Diego Day 7 Good Ending" and both parts of "Diego Sex Scene I"; Diego has five fingers in the first two examples, but only four in the others. I don't personally care one way or the other as far as the number of fingers, and I'm even fine if the number of fingers varies from character to character, as long as it's kept consistent how many fingers a character has; otherwise, it feels kinda jarring and it pulls me out of the immersion, at least for me.

Other than the fingers issue, I noticed some errors in a couple of the backgrounds, specifically the "Tai's House Basement" and "Combat Tournament" backgrounds (see images below). In both backgrounds, there are a couple places on the ropes (rungs?) of the fighting rings where the coloration is wrong. Just thought I'd point them out. I circled the areas I noticed an error for each background.

Other than that, I've nothing really to mention. The only thing I could possibly think of is that it's a bit of a hassle not being able to use the standard ren'py hotkeys ("F" to change display, "S" to take a screenshot, etc.) in the game, but that's genuinely just a nitpick; it'd be nice to have, but it doesn't have any effect on my opinion of the game and I honestly enjoy it, regardless. I'm really impressed with the quality of the game so far, in all honesty, and all this build up to the ending of Diego's route in the next couple of updates is really getting me hyped for whatever's gonna happen. Keep up the good work!!

(P.S. Sorry for leaving these sorts of one-page-essay reviews; these can't be fun to read through, but I was never good at being concise with my writings... ^^' )

Thanks for the in depth feedback, we really appreciate it!

In order to respond to your comments about the plot, I'd have to drop some spoilers so I'm going to keep mostly quiet for now. It is true we don't plan on justifying or redeeming Kyrex for what he has done. However, we do plan on providing a lot of context as well as telling his side of the story in Day 19. This should offer people a lot of perspective on the situation, and hopefully get people thinking. There's a sort of message here, or a moral to the story if you will, but I won't say any more than that for the time being! Hopefully the ending is to your satisfaction and you're happy with how we chose to wrap things up!

Diego's plot was in many ways inspired by my own experiences with relationships. I've learned a lot from those relationships over the years. The hope is that I can share some of those lessons I've learned through the fictional anecdote that is Diego and Kyrex's story. Whether or not I manage to pull it off is another story, but we'll find out soon enough!

I've passed the graphical stuff onto CurryCatz to look into. Not much more to say on that right now, but there should be some adjustments in the next builds to those things.

Finally in response to the disabled keybindings, we can easily turn those back on and I have so for the next update. Let me know if there's anything else specific you'd like to see switched back on :)

After all, every suspect have the right to have a fair trial and being able to defend himself. Kyrex is an ass but maybe he had some reasons to be one.

The only thing bothering me is Russel's tattoes. Once on the right arme, the other time on the left :)

An unfortunate consequence of flipping our sprites so they face a certain way. It can be worked around, but would require a bit of work and would make things a bit strange in engine (different code for that specific character compared to everyone else when flipping him) so it's probably not something we're going to be looking at doing in the immediate future. We'll keep it in mind when we find some spare time!
