Does that happen with other executables you download from itch.io? Also do you know how I can stop it from happening with mine? (although I think there's probably no real solution, it's just that executable files are detected as a virus by Windows defender).
Edit: This is apparently a commonly encountered problem. I've made a zip version available for download as that apparently sometimes helps but aside from that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
