Does that happen with other executables you download from itch.io? Also do you know how I can stop it from happening with mine? (although I think there's probably no real solution, it's just that executable files are detected as a virus by Windows defender).
Edit: This is apparently a commonly encountered problem. I've made a zip version available for download as that apparently sometimes helps but aside from that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Thank you so much for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Sorry about the long gameover song! I had a really clear memory of games of the era making me wait a frustratingly long time to retry.... in hindsight it's probably not one of the features of the era that I should've incorporated into the game! If you ever play the game again -> there's still a secret testing hot key ('R') to instantly restart a song. That'll cut the 10 second gameover song off immediately! Thanks for playing and I'm looking forward to trying to your game too!
Edit: it's probably worth noting that there's a testing hotkey ('pageup') which will skip the title screen too... I added both of these to the game information, thanks for the feedback!
