No no, I understand that exhaustion is the feeling that you try to convey. In a sense it is very successful at it (perhaps even too good?)
The thing that I would like to see is something in addition to that theme, be it gameplay or story wise. I mean if the only thing that you get from a game is exhaustion it just is not a good game. If you want to build your career on indie titles you need good word of mouth. Not exactly a thing you get if the only thing people can say about the game is "yeah it was exhausting to play, but the sprites were kinda cute"
Jam games are always under cooked, that's why I am always declaring mine as prototypes. I like it that you take criticism well. The jam goal (at least for me) is to get a different aspect of my games criticized. That way I know that I made progress.
Also I just noticed that you participated in the mix and game jam. You got insomnia yourself? Madlad makeing two games in two days. Hope the other game didn't suffer too much...
