I was also having trouble running it, until I downloaded Java. The game was made in Java, so all of the versions will end up being identical and cross-platform.
Got on my other machine. Its good. My one negative comment is how fast the character moved for me. Not sure if that was intended. The music was great, the art was great. Was a ton of fun. Good job.
The speed was somewhat intended so players would always be able to beat the game without having to fight any enemies. A makeshift difficulty option. Thanks so much for the praise on art and music and I'm so happy you got around to playing it!
