Heya ! Here's what I thought about the game :)
Visual
The game looks great, but maybe the floor takes too much visual space, it makes it harder to distinguish the rest of the elements.
Sound
The BGM is cool, but I felt a bit sad that there was nothing else. A simple sweep sound when trying to hit something would've been nice.
Tutorials
It had no tutorials, it's really hard to guess what the keys are (hopefully I have an AZERTY keyboard), and what you have to do, how you have to do it, etc.
Gameplay
- The delay between the key being pressed and the sword swing makes it really hard to play. Not really player friendly.
- Without tutorial, the ground shaking just feels like a bug, until I understood that the keys were ZQSD and then switched to ESDF or arrow keys.
- The top-down vision doesn't feel right to me, but maybe it's solely because I don't like that POV.
- Are the different potions and chests useless or have I missed something? It's frustrating.
- The hitboxes feel really weird, I feel like it's almost impossible to attack without being attacked.
Fun
The game has potential, the key switch is a great idea but unfortunately not enough tutorial (don't expect people to read the description, I did it only to write the review). And the attack delay took most of the fun away imo
Bugs
I've seen visual bugs with the vision of the enemies, the squares on the ground don't disappear after a kill, it rapidly becomes a mess. I first thought the earthquake made the game buggy because I couldn't move, but I now know that the keys just change.
And when you die, your body goes sdjoigjfdgdfig, it's weird. Only a visual bug once again though.
Theme
The "surprise" keys make the game in the theme imo :)
