Hello!! I wanted to leave a bit of a review, since I played the game and thought it was pretty amazing. Hope this is of any help to anyone considering if they want to play this game! SO, first and foremost, this game IS a short indie horror game, but that's to be expected since this was a game made for a game jam. HOWEVER, what this game lacks in length (I still had about 10-15 minutes of play time), it makes up for in stylistic choice. This is the first game I've seen to take on this style of anime/mangaka and BOY IS IT AMAZING. From the minimalisms in context to the setting outside the window, the art style is done really well in this game. There's been a trend recently to either make horror games that center around a) 3D or b) retro aspects (or c: all of the above). I'm glad this game is able to separate itself stylistically from other competitors. Personally, I found even the absence of music to add to its personal flair of being a mangaka; when reading one, you only hear sound effects anyways, never music.
Let's talk about the scares. I've said it before, this game is short, so there aren't a TON of scares in this game, but it really did have its moments of intrigue for me. The ending really left me on a cliffhanger and made me want to know more about what happens at the end/what the monster is.
I think the ONLY gripe I have about the game thus far is the audio. Not that there's no music, because I've mentioned how I appreciate that, but whenever sound effects DO pop up, I found them to be inconsistent sometimes. At times, they're way too loud and so I adjust my volume and then all of a sudden, they're now too quiet. Other than that, this game is pretty much a really good representation of an indie horror game done right. I wanted to wait to shamelessly plug my video till the very end since everyone is sharing their gameplays on it, but if you wanna check out my playthrough (and you can check whether you agree with my review!), here's my video! As I'm posting this a little after Christmas and right before New Years, HOPE EVERYONE IS HAVING A GOOD HOLIDAY!
