Hey, folks. Chill. Exclusion filters have long been at the top of everyone's wishlist. Sorry I can't offer you a better answer.

That said, people complain about the overabundance of visual novels, horror games, low-quality games, pretty much everything. And well... what exactly should be popular on Itch.io? Brown shooters? The kinds of games people publish here make Itch.io what it is.

Also, queer creators publish here because a lot of other places reject them.

Until more comprehensive filters are implemented, there is in fact something you can do: be specific! You can pick any number of tags to filter by, and drill down to exactly the kinds of games you're interested in. You might have to try a bunch of different combinations, but it works.

Also, use the curation tools. Make collections. Browse collections. Rate games. Then look at the list of games Itch recommends for you, because it works surprisingly well. But only if you help it a little.

In other words, be positive. Say "I like this, and this, and this" as opposed to "I hate all these things". The results might surprise you.

A 3 year old post, resurrected only to continue a pointless discussion.

Wouldn't it be better to archive this?

Now that you mention it.... I didn't notice, but I see the post that made me notice this topic.
I agree that it would be better to lock this topic up, as nothing but trouble can come from this one.
(And sorry that I didn't notice earlier).

Good catch, thanks.
