I really liked this story! Can't wait to see how audio and illustrations feed into the atmosphere! I loved the change color on the text, very simple but effective idea -that took me back to The Neverending Story.
As suggestions I'd say that chopping the text into smaller screens would help pace and tension. Maybe not different screens but pacing the test somehow, to make the most of the interactive aspect of the narration and give the story an internal rythm so main emotions sink in (i hope I'm making any sense!). Also, some of the paths didn't seem to offer any additional info/emotion, particularly when running around the maze. It makes a difference when you added some "thought dialogue" from the main character.
Hope that's helpful! I really enjoyed your story! :)
