I love the spritework here, the main character especially.  The sprite animation plus all the little scaling look great.  The combat was ok, but the backswing of the attack and the hard knock down from getting hit both locking you out from doing anything felt really limiting. The spear seemed like it went through the flying mantises sometimes too.  The pace around 25-50% flow felt the best to me, and I think some attack combos would be a great addition (maybe doing special combos could build flow faster?)  A little more player control will go a long way.  This is a really cool demo, and I think it has a lot of potential!
